The dynamic duo, Gary and Kathy Jordan, took over a farm with a 300 year history from his parents Ted and Sheelagh. His parents purchased it in 1982 and began replanting grapes of a classic variety to suit the soils.
Gary is a geologist, Kathy an economist and after working overseas for two years, they returned to build a cellar in 1992. They set about making wines a year later. Here they have created fine wines on the Jordan hillside with views of Stellenbosch, Table Mountain and False Bay.
Their philosophy is that success begins in the vineyards. Superb wines are possible if the natural assets are managed well and varieties carefully selected to suit the soils. The white wines are fermented in barrels and made using Classic Burgundian methods.Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shiraz each use different barrels to mature in.
They produce the following ranges: Bradgate, Chameleon, CWG, Jardin range, Jordan and Reserve. Enjoy a wide selection of cheeses with your wine. Pop into the cheese room where you’ll find blue cheeses Brevis Blue and Cremolat Gorgonzola, hard cheeses like Kimilili Witzenberger and Healy’s Mature Cheddar and goat’s cheese.
