When you head up the Cape West Coast you need to stop off at Jacobsbaai, even if you can only manage an hour or two because it is simply beautiful. Building restrictions in the area have ensured that two kilometers of coastline have been beautifully preserved.
Jacobsbaai beach is one of the seven bays and allows a host of activities and exploration of rock pools. You’ll enjoy the peace and quiet of the almost deserted beach. If you need a bit of excitement get into the water for a dive or see if you can charter a boat and get out onto the ocean. Remember to take precaution and not be reckless in the water, the safety of both you and the marine life is important. If you’re planning on diving for cray-fish please note that you need a permit for this and you will receive a hefty fine if you’re caught without one.
If you plan to take it easy the bird life is wonderful in the area or you can enjoy a coastal hike in the magnificent surroundings.
