About Haskell Vineyards

Owner Preston Haskell first visited South Africa in 1985 and later returned with parents in 1991 with a keen interest in wine.

His father commented about how cheaply great wine in Stellenbosch was being sold and he never forgot it. Toward the end of the 1990’s his knowledge of the wine industry had increased and he purchased Dombeya in an area of outstanding quality fruit.

The estate has 15 hectares under vine including Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Merlot. They built a 150 tonne winery, has one of the South Africa’s best winemakers on the team Rianie Strydom who worked for ten years as a winemaker at Morgenhof Estate. Phil Freese is their viticultural consultant.

The Long Table is a restaurant that was designed to provide unpretentious, delicious food without the haute cuisine and with a relaxing environment. Pair Haskell and Dombeya wines with your food or try some of the best coffee in South Africa supplied from all over Africa.
