Known as ‘The Rock’ by locals, The Harbour Rock is set on a cliff, overlooking the Hermanus harbour, making it one of the most beautifully positioned restaurants in the Western Cape. Boasting 280 degree sea views, the Harbour Rock restaurant is an absolute must for visitors to the area. With its own sushi bar and unforgettable menu, The Rock offers an upmarket dining experience as well as a picture perfect location.

Drawing inspiration from its harbour surrounds, the menu has a strong emphasis on seafood (although, we’ve had the steak and it’s sensational!). Starters include delights such as seafood chowder; springbok carpaccio; duck spring roll and lamb kidneys. For mains, we can personally recommend the linefish; fillet of beef, which is served with red wine or pepper sauce; the West Coast Sole and the crispy duck, served with orange green peppercorn sauce. The lamb rump looks lip-smackingly irresistible, as do the butterfish and crayfish dishes. All the mains come with wine pairing suggestions – a great touch.

Overall, dining at The Harbour Rock is an absolute treat. Take your better half for a romantic dinner, or the whole family for a memorable evening out.
