Glenwood Winery in Franschhoek, Western Cape

A few kilometres from Franschhoek, you’ll find Glenwood farm in the valley of Robertsvlei which has taken 19 years to develop. ‘DP’ Burger is both viticulturalist and winemaker which means all decision-making is geared with excellent wine as the end product in mind. Their award-winning wines are frmed by picking grapes in small batches and processed individually in the perfect time. The winery’s techniques including barrel fermentation, peristaltic pumps and manual punchdowns all work together to ensure the wine’s success.

In 2009, Glenwood walked away with awards in Top 10 South Africa Shiraz Selection, National Champion Chardonnay-Terroir Awards and Diamond Selection-Winemaker’s Choice. As a small farm, Glenwood was awarded the Farm Health Award in light of their work towards developing the farming community. They place a lot of importance in empowering and motivating the community and their workforce.

Visit this beautiful farm with replanted indigenous fynbos and embark on a cellar or vineyard tour to taste a Merlot 2009, Shiraz 2008, Sauvignon Blanc 2011 or their flagship Chardonnay Vigneron's Selection 2010 amongst others. The estate has partnered with Sensei who run a Japanese Sushi eatery named Okamai with the top sushi chef in Franschhoek. Try sushi with their white wines for ultimate culinary delight.
