The Franschhoek Cellar used to be the co-operative wine producer for a community of grape farmers in the valley. They are now a pillar in the community operating as a private cellar that delivers wines of exceptional quality.

The vineyards were first recognised approximately 300 years ago by the French Huguenots who noted the rich soil and long summer days coupled with the winter rain and plenty of land. In 1945 a collection of 37 wine growers joined together to form this co-op.

The vineyard focuses on 4 aspects - diversity, vibrancy, authenticity and quality thus offering visitors a selectio of only the finest wines to taste.

Why not add a little cheese tasting to your wine experience as the Franschhoek Cellars offer a number of cheese and wine pairing options, but it is essential to book these.

You must try our restaurant! Using only the freshest ingredients, we serve a number of delicious light meals, lunches and scrumptious cakes throughout the day.
