This small but special nursery started out nearly 20 years ago as an annual Easter plant sale at which members of the Hermanus Botanical Society contributed indigenous plants nurtured in their own gardens for the year and took them back again if unsold. Then, as now, the aim was to introduce gardeners to the joys of "growing indigenous", particularly for the coastal area of Hermanus with its wild winds and poor soil.
Fernkloof Nursery has succeeded beyond all expectations, as customers come from far and near to visit and buy and chat about their gardens. Jack Bold is now its innovative manager, whose enthusiasm and hard work can be seen in the rocky waterfall feature he created around which a pristine extended plant area flourishes.
Varieties range from protea, erica, restio families to clivias, trees and ground covers at competitive prices. We are producers of quality Clivias for all those that treasure these unique plants. Our Clivias are grown from seed resulting from selective hand pollination, or offsets from mature plants. For further information regarding availability and prices please contact the nursery.
