Clarke of the Karoo in Barrydale

Located in the heart of Barrydale on Route 62, Clarke of the Karoo Restaurant and Farm Stall has become famous as the favourite stopover for discerning 'foodies' wanting breakfast, lunch, or just a good coffee and walk around the farmstall.

The menu at the Restaurant is a mix of "Karoo Cuisine" and Mediteranean dishes, Karoo Oysters, Cape Malay Bobotie and their legendary Karoo Lamb Curry (served with papadoms and a vast array of sambals), Whitebait and Roasted Vegetable Bruchetta with balsamic reduction. A special sandwich and home-made burger menu (Bacon and Bluecheese Burger) and on occasions Karoo Lamb Burger.

The Farmstore is packed with local produce. "We strive to be different to other stores, continually sourcing new and varied products from on and around Route 62. As a foodie, being able to advise the consumer how to prepare and use unusual items is an advantage. Obviously we offer the usual range of local homemade selection of bottled fruits and jams, chutnies, oils and olive products, for example olive and red onion marmalade".
