Ceres is a picturesque part of the Western Cape that is peaceful and inviting. Home to a few locals, it also welcomes plenty of national and international tourists every year. This is not surprising for such a beautiful natural region.
The Christie Prins Hiking Trail was, originally, an eco-tourism project initiated by a local primary school, and was named after a notable local conservationist.
The trail is in the magnificent Skurweberg Mountain Range, just a few kilometers away from Prince Alfred Hamlet. Hikers can choose to go on the two-hour trail or the four-hour one, depending on personal abilities and preferences. Both trails boast stunning views. There are maps and trail descriptions available at the Ceres Tourism Office.
