Over 4000 flower species can be seen spread across the Cape Flower Route like a heavenly psychedelic carpet, and people from all across the globe make their pilgrimage to view nature in all its glory.
Being just two hours drive from Cape Town, Citrusdal is a conveniently close location to base yourself at when making the flower pilgrimage - on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by vehicle. Flowers are most spectacular between 11:00am and 16:00pm, so remember to time your day trips accordingly. There are endless hiking trails through the flowers and to viewing points above acres of blossoms that will render you speechless, because the majesty of nature and her exquisite work are truly something to behold.
