Assegaaibosch Nature Reserve is a well-known reserve, offering three walking trails through a once cultivated wildflower garden, that is now inhabited with a variety of fynbos species. The garden is a breathtaking vision of the beauty of nature; with abundant bird life, a freshwater aquarium, picnic site and a coffee shop.

Visitors are welcome bring picnic baskets and enjoy relaxing after walking along one of the routes. A visit to Assegaaibosch is not complete without visiting the freshwater aquarium at the conservation station. Visitors are also invited to fish for rainbow trout. Enjoy a delicious light meal at Chaplins Coffee Shop, or a lovely slice of cake and coffee, between walks.
