About Anura Vineyards
At the base of the Simonsberg Mountains, you’ll find the Anura Estate which has been owned and run by the Bouma family since 1989. What began as two blocks of vineyards, multiplied into 150 hectares of vines which can produce about 700 tons of red wine, which they pride themselves in. They planted Mourvédre, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese and Malbec which was originally sold to nearby estates until their first vintage in 2001.
You’re in for a real treat when it comes to wine and food pairings as Anura add their own Forest Hill cheesery products such as Brie and Camembert, Danish white and Swiss Mountain cheese to the tasting experience to ensure a delightful combination as you look out over the ponds and fynbos. There’s also a tapas menu and 12 Pigs Charcuterie where nothing but the finest cured meats such as salami and maple smoked bacon are produced.
Host a special function in the Barrel Room (which is the original cellar) overlooking the Lilly Pad pond or in the Garden Patio Room for more cosy weddings or occasions. Choose one of their award-winning wines such as the Merlot Reserve from Block 10, grab your tapas and head for the garden or the fire place.
