About Van Gaalens MTB Trails
Grab your mountain bike and get on the Van Gaalens Mountain Bike Trail. This intermediate trail is 1-3 hours long and consist of a network of routes roughly 150 kilometers long. Whether you are an experienced rider, a beginner or a child, this track will be suitable.
The terrain consists of sand, gravel, rocky areas and horse trails where you will ride through bushes, open fields, across rivers and amongst reeds. You can create your own route to avoid or embrace the steeper drops, river or rocky climbs.
The start of all routes is at the Van Gaalens Cheese Farm on the outskirts of Skeerpoort, Hartbeespoort Dam. This is a fabulous place in summer as it is hot but be aware that there are thunderstorms at this time of year which will affect the terrain.
