Visit the Calvinia Museum in Church Street which is housed in the old synagogue. The museum aptly illustrates the history of sheep farming in South Africa. View farming activities depicted by a bucket pump, flour mill, cobbling and blacksmith workshops as well as soap and candle-making utensils. Utensils, clothing, porcelain, brass and other items relating to the lifestyle of the early European settlers are exhibited. The Calvinia Museum also houses the Calvinia Tourism Office which arranges local walks and activities.
