Traditional wooden shutters and wrought iron chairs that are nestled in the dappled shade of the massive trees is what Olden Café is all about. With a distinctly French Colonial look and feel, this café boasts gorgeous views of the well-kept garden of the Olden Rose Guest House, far away from, the hustle and bustle of urban living.
Renowned for its excellent coffee and cappuccinos, the Olden Café is committed to providing a charming experience and lasting memories. The set menu is brimming with fresh flavours, traditional favourites and some innovative treats, and the daily specials are sure to whet the appetite.
This venue is ideal for a catch-up with friends, but can also be reserved for special occasions. These include high teas, small weddings, engagement parties, anniversaries, birthdays, baby or bridal showers, or a kiddies’ party with a difference. Catering will be handled by Olden Café to alleviate the organiser of any of this stress, allowing them to enjoy the occasion with the people that they love.
The Olden Café is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 07h00 to 17h00, and on Saturdays from 08h00 to 13h00. Those wanting to reserve it for a private function on Saturday afternoons or Sundays are welcome to do so by prior arrangement.
Lephalale, the residential address of this café, is a coal mining town in Limpopo Province. It was once called Ellisras, and is home to a number of historical and natural treasures. These include the Mokolo Nature Reserve and Dam, Grootgeluk Coal Mine, D’nyala Nature Reserve, Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, and Wonderkop Nature Reserve. Game drives, nature walks, bird-watching and cycle tours of the surrounds are all fantastic ways to get the most out of this South African destination.
