The handcrafted products of Kamotsogo are contemporary, but with a distinct and delightful African feel. Kamatsogo Craft Art, originally established in October 2006 as an empowerment project of The Clive Walker Foundation, is a social investment plan creating employment opportunities, transferring skills and empowering women through the production, marketing and sales of hand-crafted products.
Craft is seen as one of the most important means for unemployed people to learn skills and enter into the world of mainstream tourism and enterprise development. Kamatsogo's aim is to contribute to the local community by empowering them and teaching them skills that will endure, providing them with an income source.
The products are unique, drawing on current trends, made with a contemporary feel, and an African 'edge'. Kamotsogo is a vital contribution to the local tourism industry, as well as to the community.
