The beautiful Sodwana Bay, home to Triton Diving, is situated within the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park in KwaZulu-Natal. This park is one of South Africa’s precious World Heritage Sites, thanks to its biodiversity and aesthetic beauty. Just off this coast are a number of exquisite coral reefs, some of which have been formed on submerged fossil sand dunes, creating an underwater delight for explorers that want to see the rich colours and awesome displays just below the water’s surface.

Triton Diving, established in 1996, offers expert SCUBA diving and instruction to learners of all levels. These are conducted on the well-known reefs, where there is a massive array of marine plant and animal life. However, thanks to their expertise and experience, Triton can offer adventures on lesser-known reefs as well; giving their clients an extra-special dive.

The night dives offered by Triton are particularly special, as the splendour of the Indian Ocean can be enjoyed in a new and exciting way. For those who want to snorkel while the others dive, there is provision for this too, giving just about everyone the chance to indulge in the gorgeous fauna and flora of the ocean. In December and January, pregnant ragged tooth sharks congregate at one of the local reefs. These are incredible to see, and Triton loves introducing them to the divers.

Triton uses 8.1 metre Dive Ducks, and have all of the kit required for a dive, as well as their own air filling station. They set up their table and chairs on the beach, near the dive site, for the ultimate in convenience and comfort. This SCUBA school is open all year round, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s.
