While Johannesburg may be known as a shopaholic’s dream destination, that isn’t all that the City of Gold is about. In the north of this bustling urban metropolis is a forest that dates back almost six decades, and is known for its exquisite forest canopy and gorgeous views.
These views are best enjoyed at canopy height and the Tree Top Adventure SA has ensured that they are bringing all the fun and adventure of canopy tours to the heart of the South African province of Gauteng. More specifically, these tours are only 10 minutes north of the Fourways Mall.
Tree Top Adventures SA allows visitors to test their adrenalin as they move between an number of different obstacles that are suspended at different heights in the treetops. There are obstacles suitable for all ages, depending on the course selected, and different activities can be combined to suit your particular group and needs.
Zipline across the beautiful Riversands Dam, test your target shooting skills, play low-impact paintball in the forest, or scramble and race from one obstacle to the other while enjoying the beauty of the forest below you. These activities are fantastic for children’s parties, corporate team building, or a fun day out with friends and family. The venue is absolutely beautiful and each activity has been made really exciting, while not compromising on safety.
The forest floor below is fabulous for a picnic, so bring your basket with snacks for a day with a difference. There are also braai facilities, inviting locals and tourists to savour some real South African cuisine while enjoying the courses at leisure.
The course choices are:
• Woodpecker or Purple Course (ages 3 to 7 years) – 10 obstacles and 2 ziplines situated about 1.2 metres off the ground.
• Kingfisher or Yellow Course (ages 8 years and older) – 15 obstacles and 1 zipline at an average of 3.5 metres above the ground.
• Eagle or Red Course (12 years and older) – 20 obstacles that challenge teens at around 6 metres above the ground.
• Falcon or Orange Course – this is a challenging zipline for extreme adventurers that want to feel the thrill and rush of being 10 metres high and soaring over the land and water for about 100 metres at dizzying speeds.
All safety equipment is provided.
