The Griffin is described as “not quite a bar, not quite a restaurant” and certainly lives up to its multifaceted identity. Modelled on a British prototype of pubs that have become so much more, The Griffin boasts an elegant but ultimately relaxed ambience in which awesome craft beers and a craft cider are available on tap, a number of local and imported bottled beers can be enjoyed, and the food never disappoints.

The craft beers are produced by microbreweries using traditional methods and excellent quality natural ingredients. They are not in favour of using preservatives and additives, so the flavours that you enjoy are purer and healthier than other beer varieties. In addition to the seven craft beers and one cider, there are also bottled beers that are, perhaps, better known. But, they also include some unusual brands; such as UK’s Wells Bombardier.

The food menu is also impressive. Lunch specials include the likes of lamb tagine with pistachio nuts, hummus and tahini; calamari; artichoke linguine; and rump steak with peppercorn butter. There are heartier mains on offer, as well as delicious light meals, salads and snacks. The spinach lasagne with ricotta cheese and porcini mushrooms and the pumpkin and coconut curry are musts for vegetarians to try. There are also fantastic platters that folks can share while they sip on refreshing beers.
