The Cog and Sprocket is a mountain bike activity centre for mountain bike and trail running enthusiasts set in the foothills of the Magaliesberg mountain range. It welcomes day visitors.
The MTB trails are built according to tried and tested international building techniques and standards (locally championed by AMA Rider), whilst respecting the planet.
The longest loop is 12 km. You can comfortably do it twice, but it has several climbs (not for beginners), easily gaining 300 metres. The ride is smooth and the flow easy, with several skill building corners. It ends with a 2 kilometre roller coaster ride to the finish line.
There are two other beginner to intermediate loop distances – 5 km, with an elevation of 163 metres, and a 7.5 kilometre trail that gains 194 metres.
There are two dedicated single tracks of 5 km and 15 km each, through some of the most beautiful scenery through surrounding farms. The trails start and end at the Mount Grace.
The clubhouse is something to write home about with five star bathroom and shower facilities, and a restaurant.
Entrance fee, at last check, was R40 a head; 6am to 6pm on weekends.
The Mount Grace Super Series takes place annually in late May.
No helmet, no ride.
