About Point Shack Trail
The Robberg Nature Reserve is perched along the Garden Route at Plettenberg Bay, and is a fabulous hub of natural beauty and exciting species.
The Point Shack was situated on the eastern point of the reserve, showing off the splendour of the Western Cape coastline to perfection. However, this shack was destroyed in 2008 by a wave. Today, the Fountain Shack is the ideal place to spend the night when mastering the Point Shack Trail.
This hiking trail starts at the parking area of the Robberg Nature Reserve and takes two days to complete. The round trip is 11 kilometres long, but there are shorter options. Hikers are advised to look out for whales, dolphins, seals and birdlife along the way. Cameras are a must.
