Dine at Nguni Restaurant in Plettenberg Bay

Nguni Restaurant is an atmospheric, dazzling venue, situated in front of The White House theatre, an original 100-year-old building – one of the oldest in Plett. One look at the menu and you’ll know that these gourmands know what they’re doing in the kitchen!

Start with the South African influenced bobotie spring rolls, served with traditional homemade ‘blatjang’ (chutney), or the smoked salmon Carpaccio, served with caper berries, rocket and Huguenot shavings. The potted chicken parfaits, served with kumquat preserve sounds out-of-this-world, with the local home-cured bacon and spinach salad, topped with toasted almonds and onion marmalade, chasing at its heels.

For mains, the 350g Nguni Steak, served with potato bake and steamed greens, with an option of mustard or green peppercorn sauce, sounds like their pièce de résistance. More delicious options on the menu include the braised chicken, leek and mushroom pot, topped with crisp phyllo and the game sausage, served with caramelized onions and mashed potato; lamb bunny chow; linefish; seafood soup and linguine.
