Described by many as 'the jewel of Plettenberg Bay', Katarina’s earns continuous accolades due to its million Dollar location amongst rolling green polo fields, mountains - and a passionate team who work together to create a menu that is a feast for all the senses.
The restaurant itself is a relaxed space with a bistro feel, encouraging alfresco dining during the warm months, with seating near a warming log fire during winter. With its setting on the immaculate Kurland Estate, Katarina’s has a menu that lives up to its surrounds.
With a small menu, it is obvious that the chef has laboured over each ingredient, resulting in that desirable combination of nouvelle cuisine style dishes, offset by a lack of pretension - food that is pleasing to the eye and the palate, that will delight and linger in one’s memory. The salmon fishcakes are apparently a favourite, with the artichoke pie and beautifully prepared succulent prawns weighing in as a strong contender.
All-in-all, Katarina’s is an absolute ‘must’ for any foodie visiting Plettenberg Bay. Round off a long, lingering lunch or heavenly dinner with a relaxing drink and a decadent dessert in the ‘French Bar’.
