De Wingerdt Restaurant can be found in the idyllic vineyard setting of the De Doornkraal Wine Estate, which stretches to the Vette River bordering the town of Riversdale. Steeped in history, De Doornkraal is surrounded by beautifully preserved historical homes, and the main dwelling is one of the original structures on the farm.

De Wingerdt Restaurant boasts of their internationally influenced menu, making use of flavours from around the world. Using local ingredients, Chef de Cuisine Christopher Peppas creates magic with a menu bursting with flavour.
Spoilt for choice, patrons will have a hard time deciding between the impressive array of carefully curated starter dishes, ranging from bobotie spring rolls or Spanish style calamari, to Kudu Carpaccio and Yunon style pork ribs.

Unusual gourmet dishes with distinct international influences dominate the main menu, with dishes such as: Stifado, (Greek style thick cut beef rump casserole with pearl onions and creamed potatoes); Country Style Lamb Shank; Marrakesh Lamb Tagine; Beef fillet with Thai seasoning and coconut milk, served with scented sticky rice and sambals. The Chicago Style Hamburger lightens the international mood, and is served with homemade tomato relish and potato wedges.

Chef Peppas impresses with a traditional slow roasted Greek Lamb, using a whole square cut shoulder, served on a platter to table with Ya Ya’s Patates, steamed vegetables, Pita breads & Tzatziki.

Seafood dishes include Linefish Salsa Fresca; Norwegian Salmon; Squid in leeks and red wine and the whole baked linefish, for the whole table.
Finish off a perfect evening with crème brûlée or one of the many delicious desserts on the menu.
