About Mosamane Hiking Trail
The 8 kilometer long Mosamane Hiking Trail starts on Beatrix farm near Rosendal, is not too difficult and is suitable for adults and children over 12 years old.
Starting out at the converted barn where hikers wanting to stay the weekend are accommodated, you travel along the steam through grasslands and dongas.
Climb to the rock overhangs and admire the views and extraordinary rock formations that can be seen. Here you will find some of the most outstanding sandstone rock cliffs around and have the chance to see some amazing shapes carved into the rocks by the wind and rain over the years.
Ladders allow you to climb into the popular caves known as Owls Eyes where you will be able to take some stunning pictures. Streams and waterfalls run off the rocks and wild flowers bloom in spring. This shady trail is perfect on those summer days and will be thoroughly enjoyed by all who take part. Please ensure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
