In the mood for Indian food in Bloemfontein, try The Raj at The Windmill Casino. Here you can enjoy North Indian cuisine at its best. The décor in this casual upmarket restaurant is elegant and warm with touches of gold and orange that is just as authentic Indian as the “imported” Indian chefs. Soft candle and Indian background music completes the luxurious ambience.
The food is spicy, exotic and a visual feast, all prepared by master Indian chefs from India. For starters a must is the home made lamb samoosas served with tamarind chutney. The perfect main course comes out of the tandoor in the form of Chicken Tikka Masala where chicken pieces are grilled in the tandoor then simmered in an aromatic and tomato gravy flavoured with fenugreek seeds and cardamom. Round this off with the Gulab Jamun, dumplings served in rose and cardamom flavoured syrup. And don’t worry if you have a gentle palette, there are some non-spicy dishes to enjoy.
