About Shark Gulley
Shark Gulley is one of the oldest and most popular diving sites in Port Elizabeth.
Also known as Roman Rock due to the large number of Red Romans that frequent the area, this dive site reaches depths of up to 12 meters. A long ridge goes up to within 4 meters of the surface, with long gullies running alongside it.
The area is teeming with Red Bait and Reef Fish as well as a number of Sea Stars, Feather Stars, Soft Corals, Sea Fans, Anemones, Nudibranchs and much more making this dice sight and interesting and colourful one.
Take a peek into Square Hole and see if you can spot the mysterious Conger Eel tucked away from the world. The gulley here is busy with many Ragged Tooth Sharks who roam the area year round.
