The Red Location Museum is dedicated to the struggle for quality that characterised the apartheid regime in South Africa. However, more than this, it is also about the love and hope that underlined reconciliation, and the positive future that lies ahead for all South Africans.
The Red Location Museum is situated within the township of New Brighton, surrounded by the colourful homes of proud locals. It was designed by architect Joe Noero, who effectively combined corrugated iron (a material most often used in the building of shacks in informal settlements), space, light and concrete. Within these modern walls are timelines, montages, photographs and other dynamic exhibitions that will move the hearts and inspire the minds of visitors to this Museum.
