The military history of Graaff-Reinet is rich and varied, and the Military History Museum captures the time in history spanning from the 1800's until June 2007.
The museum is the most recent addition to the Graaff-Reinet Museum Complex and was established in 2005. The building itself has been preserved along the architectural lines of a stable situated on the same premises, to ensure that it is in keeping with the style of the buildings in the museum complex.
The Military History Museum in Graaff-Reinet has exhibitions detailing major moments that the town played in the country’s historical landscape, including:
