Le Petit is a testament to a hands-on chef/owner, who personally sees to his customers and imbues his cuisine with his obvious passion. A qualified chef, Llewellyn has built a solid reputation over the past 25 years, consistently earning him the accolade of owning one of the best restaurants in East London.
With Swiss and French influenced cuisine, the aesthetic reflects the origins of his inspiration, with dark wood panelling, Swiss-style decor reminiscent of an old country manor house. Plush red carpeting, ornate gas lampshades and Swiss memorabilia add to the authenticity.
The menu is predominantly Swiss/Continental, with a selection of perfectly prepared and much-loved Swiss favorites, with a few unusual dishes to pique your interest, such as the Crocodile Steak "Dundee", Buffalo Fillet, and the melt-in-you-mouth Ostrich Steak Flambé, which is prepared at the table.
Flambés are a house specialty, and there are several to choose from. Le Petit also offer spectacular seafood and Top Grade Steak Specialities. For dessert, their home-made Pecan Nut Pie is one of their patron's favourite desserts at Le Petit.
The cosy Grischa bar is perfect for unwinding and for after dinner digestifs and conversation. There is also an enclosed courtyard and upstairs pub-style venue (the Swiss Loft) with snooker table, dart boards and now a Mini Casino with newly installed slot machines. An all round perfect night out, we'd say.
