Cafe Neo's name says a lot about it's ethos: stemming from the Greek word, 'Kafeneo', which translates to 'coffee house' or 'social bar and cafe', which were the name of Greek coffee houses in every traditional village.
These coffee bars were always located at the very heart of a village and became the focal point of village life, where villagers would converge for breakfast, coffee, meals through the day, after work drinks, or merely to catch up on local gossip. The atmosphere was friendly, social, bustling and casual; a place everyone was made to feel welcome, where you would probably always see a face you knew. Each village 'Kafeneo' was tailored to meet the needs of its community.
As the new generation in the village moved to the bigger city centers, they took the "Kafeneo" lifestyle and ethos with them and modern cafes came to popularize this once 'small village' experience.
Cafe Neo hopes to bring some of this history and ethos into your experience, with their South African and Mediterranean flavours, including authentic Mediterranean signature dishes for those who love the cuisine. Enjoy hearty breakfasts, served with deliciously strong coffee, through to scrumptious lunches and tasty dinners, Cafe Neo style.
