Lying in outer Randburg, Lanseria is virtually synonymous with the airport that lies out on this side of Johannesburg. What used to be little more than a slick executive airport for corporate travellers with their own jets, now hosts regular flights with Kulula to Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban.
Lanseria airport is small, but was built with the intention of being an international airport 30 odd years ago and has more than a few things to promote its use, not least of which is the 25 minute check-in time, which for people on business to Johannesburg, is an added bonus. And it’s not as if Lanseria is in the middle of nowhere anymore. Development has encroached on this side of the city.
