ACCOMMODATION:
Enjoy the unspoilt views and absolute tranquillity in one of South Africa's
finest bushveld districts. Shakama Private Game Lodge
offers accommodation to twenty four (sharing) or twelve (single) guests and falls within a
malaria-free area.
The rustic yet elegant accommodation consists of ten fully serviced thatched suites, all
with bathrooms en-suite. Six of these suites also have outdoor showers in addition to the
bathrooms. All suites have private decks overlooking a ravine of unspoilt nature.
In addition to the main lodge, Shakama now also boasts a fully serviced self-catering
camp, Eagles Nest, sleeping up to 8 guests. These share a communal kitchen, boma and braai
area. The lodge and chalets are built against a slope - as a result stairs between
different floor levels were unavoidable. The accommodation may therefore not be suitable
for physically handicapped persons.
ENTERTAINMENT AREA:
A full bar, lounge and dining area opening up onto a large wooden deck are the focal point
of social activities.
DINING:
Superb cuisine - served next to an open log fire or inside the dining area. Romantic
dinner settings are our speciality.
CONFERENCE FACILITIES:
The Induna room offers the ideal setting for meetings (boardroom style) or seminars
(classroom style) with white boards, overhead projector, TV, VCR and screens. This
conference room offers comfortable seating for up to 30 delegates. The lodge area also
offers comfortable seating areas for four break-away groups - and of course, lots of space
outdoors.
SPA:
Spoil yourself and experience true relaxation and rejuvenation at the spa. The
Shakama Wellness Centre consists of a gym, sauna, jacuzzi and therapy rooms. Reserve your
special treatment and be pampered whilst enjoying the sounds of nature.
Shakama Wellness centre is an oasis of calm, peace and relaxation that allows you to shed
every layer of stress laid upon you by city life. The spa offers a wide array of beauty
treatments, massages, revitalizing and shaping treatments in a cosy thatched environment
with views over African bush.

WILDLIFE:
The farm covers 640 hectares of natural landscape and lies in the centre of over 10 000
hectares of bushveld ranches. Right now there are over 21 species of game roaming the farm
including Zebra and Giraffe, but excluding the members of the "Big 5", making it
safe to take leisurely walks.
Shakama is also home to a host of bird species which is bound to intrigue the avid bird
watcher. Bush drives can be extended (subject to prior arrangement) to visit adjacent
farms or the renowned Shingwedzi sanctuary excursion. Shakama is ideally suited for
eco-tourism offering clear views of game and an endless variety of natural habitat. |
