Trout fishing is offered in three dams on the property. Cheerio Trout Fishing Lodge is situated in the beautiful Cheerio valley, home of the annual Magoebaskloof Spring cherry blossom and azaelea show. It is surrounded by the Wolkberg mountains and pine and indigenous forests. It lies between Polokwane and Tzaneen and is an excellent stop over to the Kruger National Park and other private game parks. Self Catering AccommodationAccommodation is provided in 2, 4 and 6 sleeper, fully equipped self catering cottages. The chalets are fully equipped with all bedding, towels and cooking utensils. Braai facilities are also available. Grandpa's (4 Bed): Bedroom 1: double bed, en-suite dressing room and bathroom with bath; Bedroom 2: 2 single beds; Second bathroom: shower, and basin; Separate toilet with basin; Kitchenette; Lounge with fireplace; Dining area; Reading / relaxing room leading on to covered back veranda; Covered front patio; Private garden and large deck overlooking pool. Mountain View (6 Bed): Bedroom1: double bed with bathroom en suite; Loft: 4 single beds; Additional bathroom comprising shower, toilet and basin; Kitchen / Dining area; Lounge; Fireplace; Patio with braai. Beefwood (6 Bed): Bedroom 1: double bed; Bedroom 2: 2 single beds; Bathroom: bath, basin, toilet and shower; Separate toilet with basin; Kitchen / Dining area; Lounge with 2 sleeper couches and fireplace; Covered veranda. Protea (6 Bed) 6 bed but can include rondavel with bathroom en suite, to make 8 bed complex - Bedroom 1: double bed (downstairs); Bedroom 2: 2 single beds (upstairs - steep incline) leading on to deck, there is also an entrance from the garden onto the deck; Bathroom with bath, toilet and basin; Second bathroom with shower, toilet and basin; Kitchen / Dining area; Large lounge with sleeper couches and fireplace. Rainbow (2 Bed): Bedroom: 2 single beds or can be converted to Queen size double bed; Bathroom: shower, toilet and basin; Kitchenette / Dining area; Lounge with fireplace; Large deck. Forest Cottage (4 Bed): Bedroom 1: double bed, en-suite dressing room and bathroom with bath; Bedroom 2: 2 single beds en-suite dressing room and bathroom with shower; Kitchen / Dining area; Lounge with fireplace; Large deck (portion covered) with doors from lounge and bedrooms; Braai facilities; Private garden. Rainbow and Forest Cottage are set apart from the other chalets and have spectacular views into the valley. Bed & Breakfast Accommodation:There are also 2 two-bed Bed & Breakfast rondavels. The property has a swimming pool, tennis court, putt-putt and beautiful gardens. Rondavel 1: 2 single beds, shower, basin, toilet. Rondavel 2: 2 single beds with basin, separate outside (3 meters door to door) bathroom with bath, shower, basin, and toilet. TROUT FISHING:Trout fishing is offered in three dams on the property and at an owned property on the Letaba - 20 minutes drive. Fishing can also be arranged in the waters of the local Trout Fishing Association. Forest, riverside and garden walks can be undertaken from the property and hiking, mountain bike and 4X4 trails are in close proximity. ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES:Our Letaba River property offers quad biking, abseiling, tubing, kloofing, paintball, mountain biking, birding, walking and 4X4 trails. DIRECTIONS: From Johannesburg Take the N1 motorway from Johannesburg to Pietersburg or the R71 from Tzaneen to Pietersburg (via Magoebaskloof NOT Georges Valley). Approaching Pietersburg on the N1, just after the Shell Ultra, the road separates into two and there is a sign "Tzaneen 600mts." Slow down, as the turn is very sharp left onto the Tzaneen bypass. Pass through two 4-way stops before reaching the R71 coming from Pietersburg and turn right to head towards Tzaneen. DO NOT GO DIRECTLY ACROSS the road as you will end up in Duiwelskloof. If you miss the Tzaneen bypass, proceed directly to and through Pietersburg and you will be directed to the R71 - Tzaneen. Proceed on the R71 for approximately 57 kms. And after passing Zion Christian City and going up and down a winding mountain pass, you will come to the village of Haenertsburg. Just past the village is a signboard giving directions to Tzaneen. Make sure that you continue on the R71 (via Magoebaskloof). DO NOT TURN RIGHT at the bridge (via Georges Valley). 3 kms. from Haenertsburg, turn left on to a sand road clearly marked "Cheerio".
