Far away in the valley the town of Vaalwater shows its lights as the day starts to rest and the game strolls past your Mountain Lodge on the way to the waterholes. 24Riviere Private Game Farm is newly developed in the Waterberg area by Henk and Maryetta van Herwaarden. Treating you well is what the 24Riviere team stands for, in an environment often referred to as "South Africa’s best kept secret." We keep the number of guests low in order to keep the service high. ACCOMMODATIONThe very private Mountain Lodges (only 3) were built in the mountains. With rocks and thatch roofs these Rondavel-style lodges have cool day temperature and nice warmth at night. The spacious lodges are finished and furnished in style to provide you with comfort and luxury. Each lodge offers 2 bedrooms with king-size beds, both en-suite, one with a classic bath and one with quality design rain shower. Each bedroom has a small, built-in combination safe. The living area is furnished with comfortable sofa and easy chairs to relax. The remote controlled fan provides extra cooling on very hot days. There is a small kitchen to make a small snack, coffee or tea, and also a mini-bar. From both bedrooms and living areas you have access to a large fully furnished sundeck with build in Whirlpool. From the sundeck you can enjoy beautiful views and magnificent sunsets. Complete this with a sundowner which we will be most happy to serve on your private sundeck. SERVICES• We arrange sleepovers for late international arrivals with transfer to and from Johannesburg Airport. • Internet access is available in the office. • Drinks and refreshments are served at the main-house lapa and at your private lodge / sundeck. • Children are welcome. We offer discounts for children under the age of 12. • When you want to go out the 24Riviere team can Baby-sit the little-ones. • Breakfast, lunch and diners are served in a friendly family atmosphere under the main house lapa. OUTDOOR FACILITIES• The swimming pool is there for you to use at the lapa near the main-house. • Sundecks at the mountain lodges have their own private Whirlpool. • Hiking on the farm - Be as close to nature as possible. • Bird watching and game viewing. • Quad-bike rides. FACILITIES NEARBY• In the little town of Vaalwater you’ll find several good restaurants at close range. • For a treat in one of the beauty salons we recommend to make appointments. • Fishing trips are to book in the area. Several dams and rivers are at close range. • Big-5 game-viewing tours and Horse-back safaris. • The golf course in Modimolle is only 45 minutes drive away. • Hiking trip on the farm and in the area. Trips for one day or more days can be chosen • Visit the local market and shops and in between have refreshments on a terrace. • Elephant back rides in Vaalwater. CULTURAL & HISTORICAL INTEREST• Clive Walker’s Rhino Museum in Melkrivier is only a 20 minutes drive away. • Visit and feed the Rhino by hand. • Visit the Waterberg Museum in Vaalwater.
