ROBERTSON WINE ROUTE

Robertson Wine Route: The best time I have had was travelling the Wine Route in Robertson over one weekend. I really enjoyed my tour because it was the first time being on this route and our guide was my friend Maxwell Jansen who knows this route and we also stayed at his friends house. What I enjoyed the most was the history of each farm, the people, culture, loved their wine and definitely enjoyed the view.

One of the stories that I will never forget was about a wine called Salvador names after an Italian prisoner who worked on the farms and left paintings that were recently discoverd and in his commemoration, the decided to name a red wine after him.

The people there made me feel more welcome at each farm than my whole stay in Cape Town as a whole and I was smothered with love and the feeling of longing for home afterwards. I went then they still had some of the Summer Sun was still out, and I was welcome by the vine that boasted the eloquent colours of the leaves on the mountainous regions. Even though I never had a field tour I believe that it would be splendid!
