Moments away from the heart of historical Kimberley, Five Acres Guest House offers you a relaxing stay in a wonderful countryside setting.

Set in large tranquil and lush gardens surrounded by huge trees, Five Acres offers comfortable, affordable, luxury accommodation with secure parking. All rooms have their own entrances and parking right outside the units means easy unpacking of vehicles. Full English breakfasts served in our dining room.

ACCOMMODATION:


All our units are separate from the main house and situated in the shady garden. All specifically decorated to relax our guests and provide them with home comforts. Wide verandahs with comfortable chairs provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy the Northern Cape weather and the pretty garden.

Single Rooms:
Each single room has a bed, an armchair, table and chair, small fridge, en suite bathroom as well as tea/coffee making facilities.

Double Rooms:
The double rooms, which are self-catering, have arm chairs, sofa’s, dining table and chairs, full en suite bathroom and a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and relevant crockery and cutlery, as well as tea/coffee trays.

Family Unit:
The Family unit has a double bed and two single beds,a full en suite bathroom, a lounge area and a dining table with chairs. A fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave, cutlery, crockery and a tea/coffee tray. There is also a sliding door into the garden with a private barbeque in the garden with table and chairs for outside dining.

FACILITIES


Garden furniture is placed in various parts of the garden to enable guests to enjoy the views. Cool off in the pool, or laze on the verandah and watch our excellent bird-life - up to 41 species spotted - and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the bush, although now situated in the suburbs. Sit on the verandah with a sundowner and watch the magnificent sunset and the indigenous Acacia (Thorn) trees which surround us.

LOCATION & ACTIVITIES:


Situated only 1km off the N12 on the south side of Kimberley makes this a popular stop-over for travelers as it is easy to find. Close to all tourist amenities with direct routes to the Big Hole and some Anglo-Boer War sites. A selection of excellent restaurants within easy distance or a delivery service which caters for all tastes if you feel like “staying in”. Tour guides can be arranged as well as helicopter game viewing and bird guides.

Airport transfers arranged and some rooms are wheel-chair friendly. Small pets allowed (under supervision). Owner-run, we are confident that you will have a memorable stay with us.

DIRECTIONS:

From Cape Town
From the Cape Town side, coming in on the N12, turn left at the first traffic light as you enter Kimberley, into MacDougall Street. Five Acres is 1km from the traffic light.

From Johannesburg
From Johannesburg, follow the signs directing through Kimberley to Cape Town. As you leave the city centre, you will pass the Formula One hotel and the traffic light ahead of you is on the corner of MacDougall Street. Turn right and Five Acres is 1km from the lights.

From KwaZulu Natal
From KwaZulu Natal, pass the airport, go over two railway bridges and when you reach the Diamond Pavilion Mall, take the slip road left into MacDougall Street. Carry on right through the traffic lights on the N12, and Five Acres is 1km from the traffic lights.
