The unique Savanna Private Game Reserve is situated in the world reknowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve in Mpumalanga, which borders South Africa's famous Kruger National Park. Savanna is the epitome of a fully inclusive and diverse African wildlife and cultural experience. Memorable and exciting big game viewing and a fascinating insight into the local tribal customs of the Shangaan people, will form part of your safari experience.
ACCOMMODATION
Savanna encompasses the very essence of an Out of Africa camp. The "tented" suites combine the romance of a tented roof and draped inner ceiling, with the sophistication of a permanent structure that ensures luxury and privacy.
Executive Suites:
Three of the suites are top of the range Executive Suites, each of which has its own private plunge pool, and an indigenous garden area. These suites may accommodate a third person. Their en-suite bathrooms feature a double wash hand basin, enclosed toilets, a double shower and a Victoriana ball and claw bath.
Luxury Suites:
The four Luxury Suites are of equal standard, though slightly smaller and without the private pool and double shower. These suites are more intimate and romantic. All of the suites are airconditioned and have a well stocked mini bar. Pure cotton linen with hand embroidered wildlife designs, and top quality beds are standard. Rustic reed blinds, coir carpets, a draped canvas ceiling and built in lounge area with bolsters and scatter cushions, all combine to create the most luxurious tents in Africa.
The Savanna Suite:
The Savanna Suite is the epitome of luxury and comfort. Designed under thatch, it can accommodate up to four guests in two beautifully appointed bedrooms. Each bedroom has a wooden deck which leads onto a private plunge pool. The bedrooms are divided by a large lounge / dining area. This room is tastefully furnished and equipped with state of the art TV, DVD and video machine. The bathrooms are large and comfortable with a “his and hers” vanity area, free standing bath, shower and separate toilet. The bathroom also boasts a designer outside shower leading off the bathroom. Guests may enjoy private meals in the dining area or on the veranda. Situated at the very edge of the bush, the view is uninterrupted onto a waterhole.
DINING
The open air boma, also overlooking the floodlit waterhole, creates a warm, friendly atmosphere, where guests may enjoy a traditional African meal under the stars....The boma at Savanna encompasses a thatched bar and cooking area and state of the art cooking facilities. Full English breakfasts and lunches are served on the verandah and dinner is served either in the dining room or in the starlit boma, warmed by a roaring log fire.
LODGE FACILITIES
From the comfort of the lodge, guests may view some of Africa's impressive wildlife. Guests may enjoy game viewing in comfort from our upstairs Library, or they may browse through our well stocked Curio shop. The lounge and dining room is an impressive building under thatch, which is perfectly positioned with a view of the beautiful swimming pool and a few metres further, the waterhole.

DIRECTIONS:
From Johannesburg or Pretoria, take the N12, or N4 highway to Nelspruit. When you enter Nelspruit, turn left at the traffic light and follow the signboards towards White River. From White River, take the R40 to Hazyview. At Hazyview, turn right onto the R536 towards the Paul Kruger Gate. Approximately 34 km along this road, and just after the Saringwa River, look out for signs indicating the Private Lodges (signs will read Idube, Exeter, Inyati, Ulusaba – very small sign, please look out!) on the left hand side of the road. There is a second bigger sign that reads “Huntington”. After a few hundred metres, main signs will appear with a gravel road on the left hand side. Turn left here. Follow the Savanna signs all the way to the Newington Gate (± 13km). Turn left as you enter the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and follow the signs to the lodge.
