Geared for any event from quiet get away weekends for couples, families or large groups to conferences, team building events and intimate weddings. This 500 hectare estate is situated in the Steenkampsberg mountain range equidistant between Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Being 1700m above sea level it is in a malaria free area and enjoys warm languid summers and clear crisp winters. All water is either source fed spring water or borehole water and is totally safe to drink. ACCOMMODATIONThe accommodation at Highland Giants Estate is unique and tasteful. We sleep up to 33 (sharing) guests. Five of our cottages are 3 star graded and the fourth "The Lodge" is 4 star graded. Fish Eagle; Guinea Fowl and Bald Ibis Cottages: These cottages each accommodate up to 6 people in 2 bedrooms (with basins) and a roomy loft in 2 queens and 2 singles. Each cottage offers one bath room with a large, old fashioned ball and claw bath and a unique outdoor “moon shower”. The large, fully equipped open plan kitchen (oven, gas hob microwave and fridge) shares a fireplace with the lounge, ensuring warm winter nights. Each cottage has a television with DSTV and an optional DVD player. Each cottage is uniquely private, has its own braai area and is situated on fishing water. The Farmhouse: This recently renovated 90 year old house sleeps up to 5 in single beds in three bedrooms. It has a bathroom, with old fashioned ball and claw bath and outside “moon shower”. It also has a shower room. The large fully equipped kitchen also boasts a breakfast bar with seating for 6. The roomy lounge is sunny and warm and has a fireplace and TV with DSTV and DVD player. This cottage offers an excellent outside entertainment area with panoramic views and 3 dams within walking distance. We allow dogs in this cottage as it is fenced off at an additional cost per dog, per day. The Dairy Cottage: This is our most recent addition. A four sleeper cottage (2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each, both en suite). On bathroom offers a bath and outside shower, the other bathroom has a bath. The extremely large kitchen opens onto the open plane lounge and dining room. This cottage offers a fireplace and a TV with DSTV. A covered patio next to a wood braai and fish pond with views of a small dam make sundowners a pleasure. The Lodge: This breathtakingly luxurious house sleeps up to 6 in three bedrooms (1 queen and 4 singles). It offers two bathrooms (one en suite with fireplace). Each bedroom has its own TV as well as sliding doors which open onto your own private patio. A large open plan lounge dining room with central fireplace is perfect for a cosy evening with family or friends. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, double oven and ice making machine. CONFERENCESOur modern conference room can seat up to 20 people. Conferencing packages include dinner bed and breakfast. We specialise in Tailor made packages. TEAM BUILDINGWe offer clay pigeon shooting, archery, fly fishing tuition and competition and a day out with the family on a game farm. MPUMALANGA WEDDINGSFor intimate weddings for up to 50 people look no further. We can arrange everything to your standards and a more picturesque setting you’ll be hard pushed to find. FISHINGHighland Giants Estate practices an aggressive stocking policy - stocking Rainbow, Brown and Golden trout. The largest fish caught to date is a 3.8 kg Rainbow trout hen. We offer the widest variety of fly fishing waters in the region - namely 10 dams (up to 2 hectare); 4 weirs in our catchment stream and 3.5 km’s of wild Dorps river. Catch and Release is preferable though 2 fish are included in the price of the accommodation with any over and above that being charged for. Only fly fishing methods, equipment and barbless hooks are permitted. Float tubes are welcome. Fly fishing tuition can be arranged with prior notice. We regret no day visitors. |
