Welcome to Haus Schmidt Guestlodge - Hospitable, Charming, Tasteful, Luxurious and Different. We gladly provide you with information about our South African venture, Haus Schmidt Guestlodge and us. We are Birgit and Mathias Schmidt, experienced gastronomes with successful previous careers in higher management as well as on an independent basis in Germany. In 1992 we realised our African dream and opened our small but exclusive Guestlodge. Because of our great love for nature and the animal kingdom, we were soon dissatisfied with the mere renting out of rooms. For years now we are striving to bring this beautiful corner of the globe closer to the hearts of our guests. Our love for the African bush and our gastronomic background form the qualified basis to achieve this. ACCOMMODATIONOur "Paradise" is superbly set high on the hills of a prestigious suburb with magnificent mountain view. Haus Schmidt Guestlodge can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests. Each of the 5 comfortable bedrooms are tastefully decorated with personal attention to every detail. The spacious and light bedrooms are well equipped with shower, some have a separate bath in addition, ceiling van, air conditioning, safe, hairdryer, barfridge, complimentary tea/coffee, adapter and TV. 4 rooms got their own verandah and private entrance with direct access to the pool. FACILITIESEnjoy leisurly hours at the tranquil pool area, which is set in a sub-tropical garden - home to abundant bird life. Pool loungers and towels are available. We do serve a excellent and sumptuous breakfast on the pool verandah or in the dining room. In almost all rooms of the house you can admire a fantastic picture gallery. All pictures about African animals have been taken by ourself. TOURSWe do offer personally guided tours - exclusively for our guests (from 2 to a maximum of 6 persons). Mathias is a qualified ranger with extensive bush experience and related know-how. With pleasure we will inform you about our program, or assist you in planning your own individual tour. We look forward to showing you the splendour of our surroundings. Surely the "Bacillus Africanus" will infect you too!! It has had a serious effect on us! • Nelspruit offers a variety of restaurants and pubs, which are just a 5 minutes drive away. • Smoking is not permitted in the rooms, but it is provided for on the verandahs. • No pets allowed. |

DIRECTIONS: Travelling by car from Johannesburg, turn off from the N4 into Kruger Street at the first large intersection in Nelspruit. Kruger Street automatically runs into Ferreira Street. Carry on along Ferreira Street until you reach Von Braun Street. Turn right. Haus Schmidt is the sixth house on the left. The KMIA (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport) is located 32 km outside of Nelspruit. There are flights arriving from and departing to Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town a few times daily.
