Situated between Machadodorp and Carolina, a mere 2½ hours from Pretoria and Johannesburg, it is the ideal break away from the stress and strain of city life. This quiet farm is characterized by rolling grass fields and splendid views of the surrounding mountains. A small stream meanders through the farm and often reed buck can be seen grazing in the vlei. The sight and sound of eagle, fish eagle, blue crane and many other bird species will delight the privileged guest. Three well stocked trout dams offer the opportunity to the dedicated fly fisherman to relax in the tranquil countryside. ACCOMMODATIONDragon Fly is a comfortable-luxury self-catering guest house that easily accommodates ten to twelve people. It features two large bedrooms with double beds and a smaller room with two single beds. A very spacious loft has a double bed and two single beds. Linen is provided and feathered duvets and comforters make for luxurious comfort. There are two bathrooms, one with a lovely deep bath and the other with a large shower. Bath towels are provided. A large lounge/living area has a Jet Master and comfortable seating for leisurely hours with family and friends. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob and oven, microwave and fridge/freezer combination. Braais can be held in a built-in braai on the large covered veranda, whilst enjoying exquisite views on the faraway mountains. The house is a mere 150m walk through a blue gum stand to the three dams. ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIESExperience the good life at Four Flies. You can take long leisurely walks or bring your mountain bike for “easier” travel. Perhaps you would prefer to spend quality time with family and friends or spending time alone in one of the many quiet spots might be just what you need. Whether you do early morning fishing, bird watching, a lazy midday picnic or have a sun downer next to the dams, be sure to relax completely in this beautiful countryside. For the more restless there are hiking trails, horse trails, 4x4 and quad trails as well as golf clubs in the vicinity. Staying in this beautiful guest house, the farm offers the guest the opportunity to become one with nature and experience serenity, silence and harmony. |

DIRECTIONS: From Nelspruit: Take the N4 to Machadodorp. In Machadodorp, take the R36 to Carolina. After crossing the Komati River, look for the turn-off for Doornkop to the left. Follow the dirt road through Doornkop Reserve to a T-junction. Turn left and look for the Four Flies turn-off to the right after 3 km. From Pretoria / Johannesburg: Take the R21 / N4 to Nelspruit. Turn right towards Carolina at Wonderfontein. In Carolina, at the 4-way stop, BP garage on your left, turn left. Take the Kalkkloof turn-off to the right (about 5km out of town).
