DESCRIPTION:

Cranes Nest - your exclusive 4 star (TGCSA) Lodge is situated between the towns of Belfast and Lydenburg in the heart of the Mpumalanga Mountains. Feast your eyes on the abundant indigenous fauna and flora. This popular birding area is also home to a very special little fish known as the Southern Kneria or Southern Shell-Eared fish. The Blue Cranes have returned to the Kwena valley and their call is one of the most distinctive of the vast grasslands.

A natural spring on the top of the mountain is the source of our pure and refreshing drinking water. Nestled in the ruins of an ancient culture you will find this intriguing Lodge, fringed by misty mountains and magic forests - fondly referred to as the best kept secret of this magnificent valley called the Kwena Basin.

Memorable meals are served in Malapeng Restaurant which is surrounded by ancient walls and overhung with indigenous trees. The beautiful boma area enhances the spiritual setting - ideal for just “kuiering” or outdoor celebrations.
