DESCRIPTION:

Fit for royalty, Bushfellows is an outstanding game lodge which lies in the heart of the malaria-free "Sunshine Valley" just 200km north-east of Johannesburg. Stay at the Main Lodge "Little Eden", in beautifully appointed chalets, surrounded by tropical gardens with splash pool and Jacuzzi, or in tented camps, which are positioned in thatch lapas under huge Maroela trees, deep in the bush.

The main Lodge offers excellent meals, luxury accommodation, a wine cellar with a wide variety of red and white wines from South African Estates. The chances of experiencing a game-filled drive are excellent, both night and day. There are few Game Ranches that have the facilities and concentration of game as Bushfellows.

DINING

The Restaurant:
Beneath a high thatch ceiling an open hearth fire warms the restaurant at 'Little Eden'. Guests can expect multi-course meals of the highest standard, from venison stews to vegetarian dishes and delicious desserts. The Restaurant Bar stocks a fine selection of liqueurs, spirits, cigars and beers. Breakfast includes home baked muffins, yoghurts and cereals.

Mandy's Wine Cellar:
Alongside the restaurant is the Wine Cellar where a premium and mid-priced selection of local cultivars lie in rest. The bar is an informal party venue with an open air spit barbecue where venison and lamb slowly turn.

The Lapa:
You haven't really eaten out until you've enjoyed a feast with friends in the Lapa. Under the brilliant Milky Way, you'll see constellations you've never seen before. Meals are cooked right in front of you on the central fireplace. Big iron pots, known in Africa as 'potjies', simmer on the coals cooking up venison, lamb, beef, chicken and vegetable stews. Our attendant staff makes sure you dine in fitting luxury and service is of the silver sort.

ACCOMMODATION

Chalets:
The six chalets are situated together in a horse shoe shape, with a splash pool in the centre. The chalets epitomise rustic beauty and luxury. All under thatch, the chalets are fitted with fine linen and the en-suite bathrooms are all fully equipped. The chalets are named after the birds to be found in the area.

Honeymoon Suite:
The Stargazer tree-house is our Honeymoon Suite situated deep in the bush. Here you can commune with nature in ultimate privacy. Relax on the deck with a 'sundowner' and witness the secret world of Africa's wildlife. The quaint 'out of Africa' bathroom has hot and cold running water. Stargazer has no electricity. Lighting and heating are by gas and paraffin.

Luxury Tents:
The luxury tented camp is situated in the bush, half a kilometre from the main lodge. The camp consists of 5 large tents, each complete with a double bed and wooden clothes drawers. An open air en-suite shower, toilet and wash basin leads from the tent. Tents are fully serviced. Each tent facility has its own "donkie" supplying hot water and a "braai" area.
