Enjoy luxury accommodation at Villa Prince Imperial in Vryheid and from there tour the Battlefields of KwaZulu Natal or do an epic Safari in the magnificent game reserves of Zululand and make your stay in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa memorable. Vryheid is a charming and peaceful town situated four hours drive from the Kruger National Park and Johannesburg, three hours from Durban and two hours from the Drakensberg or Swaziland. Vryheid lies in the centre of the Battlefields area and there is no better place to stay if you want to visit the sites where epic battles took place during the Trek or the Anglo-Zulu war like Blood River, Kambula, Prince Imperial monument, Isandlwana or Rorkes Drift to name a few. AccommodationAt the foot of Lancaster Hill, set in a one acre park, we can accommodate 16 guests in true luxury. Our seven comfortable bedrooms are elegantly furnished and decorated with the painting of local artists. They have private bathrooms with showers or baths and a range of luxury guest amenities. Hairdryers and shavers plugs are at your disposal. Our tea and coffee tray offers you the pleasure of making your preferred beverage while watching television in your room. All of our rooms have air-conditioning for temperature control and your valuables can be locked away in your room safe. Honeymoon Suite Our superb honeymoon suite offers a cosy lounge, an extra large bathroom with oval bath, a private terrace overlooking a secluded portion of the garden and a separate entrance and parking place for your car. BreakfastIn the middle of the garden our sunny breakfast room offers you our scrumptious full english buffet breakfasts in a quiet and elegant setting. Children are welcome and our park is a safe place for them to play and if, by any chance, they get dirty we offer a laundry service! Our garden is a paradise for the many species of birds recorded in the area. FacilitiesDays can be spent reading a book from our library by our sparkling pool, lazily sunbathing in the garden, playing pétanque (a popular French game of balls) or a round of golf at the golf course nearby, or walking in the Vryheid game reserve in the company of zebras and antelopes. The Museum is also worth a visit: It was originally the siege of the government of the short lived New Republic and illustrates the attempts made by the Boers to establish independent states and explains the reasons for their failure. Established in Lucas Meyer House which was the abode of the President, it gives a good idea of the standard of living of an upper-class family at the end of the 19th century. When the sun sets, it is time to watch some sport or tune to CNN on our satellite TV in the main lounge, to sip a drink from our honesty bar, to show your mettle on the billiards table, or to watch programs in different languages on the TV in the lounge, before walking safely to one of the restaurants close by. After a good dinner in town, you can come back and your remote control gives you access to our safe parking 24 hours a day. Your car is safely parked under protective carports. Have, on the house, a hot beverage from our coffee corner or a glass of sherry from our butler’s tray before retiring to your room for a good night sleep. If you come with a private plane, Vryheid has a modern airport and we can pick you up there as soon as you arrive. Our service has brought us many appreciative comments from travel guides such as Lonely Planet, The Rough Guide, Arthaud, Le Petit Futé and Le Routard. Nous parlons français.
