Attractions & Activities

The main reason the Drakensberg attracts so many visitors is due to the numerous walks/hikes either through age old indigenous forests dotted with streams and waterfalls or along the contour paths offering panoramic views of the berg. Many of these start on our doorstep. It is also a birdwatchers paradise and the natural beauty of the region takes ones breath away.

Nearby (4km) is the Champagne sports resort golf course presently rated 20 in South Africa. It is a spectacular, challenging course and well worth playing.

Other entertainment in the nearby area includes: Birds of prey demonstrations, the Drakensberg boys choir school which holds regular concerts, horse riding (novice and advanced), quad biking, mountain biking and boarding, white water rafting, restaurants and art / craft shops plus much more.

The climate in the area can be extreme with rapid changes in the weather quite common. Summer (October to April) days are hot +27ºC and afternoon thunder storms a regular feature. The winter climate offers mild daytime temperatures turning cold at night. Snow on the peaks is possible at any time during the year and is a certainty during the winter months (June to September). A holiday in the Drakensberg offers one the chance to escape the rat race and revive the spirit.

We are certain you will enjoy your stay with us and look forward to seeing you soon.
