La Lucia Bed & breakfast is an upmarket accommodation venue located in the serene suburb of La Lucia, Umhlanga Rocks. Being centrally positioned, we are a stones throw away from all the thrills and spills in and around Durban and Umhlanga Rocks. Whether you are in La Lucia for business or leisure, we have everything that caters for you. Come stay with us, kick back and relax in our lounge or around the pool, take in the sea air while our warm hospitality will ensure that you feel at home and all of this at an affordable rate. ACCOMMODATIONThe B&B has five upmarket rooms, with all room being en-suite, either with a bath or shower. In the rooms we have either twin or kingsize beds, a bar fridge (which is stocked with an assortment of colddrinks, water and chocolates), complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate station, ceiling fans in all rooms, Television with M-Net and reading material. Each room has its own entrance and, together with the safe on-site parking, allows you to have your freedom of coming and going when it suits you. All rooms are serviced daily, with a laundry service also being available for those on long stays that require a clean change of clothes. FACILITIESThe facilities at La Lucia Bed & Breakfast include a swimming pool, pool loungers for lying in the sun, braai area where you are welcome to cook up a heart meal for the family while relaxing around the pool. Office facilities which we make available include telephone and fax and wireless internet access (for convenient access to the online world while relaxing in your room). BREAKFAST & DININGAll rates include our first class breakfast that includes both continental and full English spreads. Juices, freshly baked goods, cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit are for starters, only be to followed up by a hearty cooked breakfast which should keep any body going for a short while. Our dining room is located on the second floor and thus provides lovely views of Durban and the Bay. On good days we are able to serve breakfast out on the patio while taking in the views. ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIESDurban and the surrounds provides a hostful and activities and all of these are within close driving distance from the B&B. Activites include the following: • Aquariums and Themepark - uShaka Marine World • Beaches - Umhlanga main, Umdloti, Ballito, and Durbans golden mile. • Casinos - Suncoast and Sibaya • Shopping - La Lucia Mall, Gateway Theatre of shopping, Pavillion Shopping Center, • Movie Houses - Gateway Shopping Center, Suncoast Casino, • Scuba Diving - off Durban, Umhlanga and Umkomaas’s Aliwal Shoal, • Dolphin viewing - daily trips from Umhlanga main beach • Golfing - Durban Country Club, Zimbali Golf Estate, Beachwood Golf course, • Fishing - daily trips from Umhlanga and Durban harbour. • Sharks Board - offers daily shows as well as daily trips out to the shark nets. • Sporting Events - close to all Stadia (Rugby, cricket, tennis) TOURS & DAY TRIPSFurther afield, trips can also be arranged to places like Sodwana Bay, Hluhluwe Umfolozi, Phinda, and numerous other wildlife areas.
