From Sunbirds you can hear, see and sometimes smell the Ocean. The front of the house overlooks the very large (heated in Winter) salt water pool, so whether you choose to lie by the pool, sit at the bar, breakfast on the pool terrace or relax in the elegant sitting room - you’ll always see the sea.

Sunbirds is in the quiet peaceful village of Southbroom, on the South Coast - also known as the Golf Coast, of KwaZulu Natal. From here you can wander gently to the best restaurant in the area and the beach in an easy 3 minute stroll away, giving you kilometres of unspoilt and very quiet beaches to explore. On these quiet walks you may come across Bush Buck, Blue or Grey Duiker, Vervet Monkeys, as well in season spot the whales and dolphins. Your stay at Sunbirds will be special for its tranquillity, excellence and variety of breakfasts, comfort and the hospitality offered by your hosts, Liz and Jonathan.

ACCOMMODATION

Sunbirds offers 5 star luxury modern accommodation. Owners Liz and Jonathan are on hand to offer the best hospitality in this elegant, striking home with wonderful views of the Indian Ocean. With our great attention to detail everything possible has been done to ensure that you have a carefree and relaxing holiday.

There are four beautiful bedrooms, all capable of being a single, twin or king bedded. All have air conditioning and fans for your comfort as well as hospitality trays, TV and DVD, personal safe, hairdryer and free WiFi (Wireless Internet Connection).

There are also more than 30 DVD’s from which to choose. The modern bathrooms have large glass encased showers (2 rooms also have baths) and guest toiletries. All rooms have individual room security as well as their own private entrances via your own patio, where you can privately relax outdoors at the table, chairs and sunbrella provided.

Sunbirds is a non-smoking establishment. However, all rooms have their own patios where ashtrays are provided, as well as the common areas outside.

FACILITIES

Our elegant sitting room can be relaxed in whilst watching the large screen TV or reading one of our many books or magazines. In the evening enjoy your pre-dinner drink at our well stocked friendly bar. Our swimming pool is salt chlorinated and is heated in winter, so can be used all year round. Pool towels are provided. For those of you who need to keep in touch with your business we have the added benefit of wireless internet connection, best connection at the bar!

BREAKFAST

Served on the pool terrace to the sight and sound of the sea, many consider this the most important meal of the day, as indeed Liz and Jonathan do, as it sets you up for the forthcoming days activities. We do not have a buffet breakfast, and personally prepare it all fresh in the morning, so if you choose to have something cooked, it will be made for you, just as you like it (with fresh herbs from our garden, in season). We like to ring the changes offering fresh fruit with yoghurt, muesli, nuts and dried fruit; some mornings you may be offered our wonderful fluffy pancakes, or a compote of fruit with an accompanying special toast.

GOLF AND WHALES

Southbroom is renowned for its beautiful golf course and this is only 3 mins drive away. Other beautiful courses very close including San Lameer and the Wild Coast. The Champagne Months of April to September, offer some of the best golfing weather, as well as the Sardine Run and the arrival of the whales from June onwards. We are happy to assist in any way we can to make your holiday the best possible and will make golf and restaurant bookings at your request.
