Inverness Farm is centrally situated, right in the heart of the popular Midlands Meander route, within easy reach of the finest restaurants, schools, spas, galleries and wedding venues in the country. Whether you want to overnight en-route to the coast or inland, explore the numerous attractions of the Midlands Meander, or just to relax and unwind in our tranquil surroundings, come and enjoy the fresh country air and our warm hospitality. Wander in the fields amongst our resident brood mares and horses, meet our calves or get acquainted with our special free-range pigs and chickens. Situated on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful Caversham Valley, we are blessed with magnificent 360-degree views. From the early morning mists in the valleys below, to the glorious late afternoon sunsets on the surrounding mountains and forests.....we are wonderfully spoilt and always in awe of our spectacular surroundings. Self Catering AccommodationOur three luxurious self-catering cottages are beautifully appointed, each with their own private garden entrances and parking. The cottages have either queen- or king-sized beds and extra mattresses/sleeper couches can be opened up for children upon request. Snuggle up with our crisp white percale linen, complementary sherry, electric blankets and duck- or goose-down duvets. All our bathrooms feature good quality thick and thirsty white towels, complementary shampoos, body lotions and soaps. Heaters, thick duvets, fireplaces and electric blankets are provided for extra cosiness during those chilly winter evenings. For your additional comfort, we provide tea, coffee, home-made biscuits, fresh fruit and flowers in each room, hairdryer, welcoming sherry, good-night chocolates on the pillows, and numerous other personal touches to make your stay a pleasant and memorable one. All the cottages have access to braai facilities. Firewood is supplied – please bring your own charcoal. Savannah Cottage This lovely cottage has a queen-size bed, full bathroom (bath with hand-held shower), fully fitted kitchenette adjoining the comfortable lounge with a cosy fireplace and full DSTV. Lovely farm and waterfall views. We can also open up additional mattresses in this cottage for children by prior arrangement. Shetland Cottage This cosy and stylish cottage has a queen-size bed and a bathroom with shower. Light catering facilities include a bar fridge, kettle and toaster with tea/coffee facilities, utensils and crockery. SummerSon Cottage Our special cottage, with a king-size bed and full en-suite bathroom with a shower. Magnificent sunset views. Light catering facilities include bar fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and sandwich maker with tea/coffee facilities, eating utensils and crockery. Attractions and ActivitiesWe are spoilt for choice when it comes to excellent restaurants in our area and can gladly make recommendations or arrange a table for you. Some of the top restaurants close by: • Caversham Mill Restaurant - a mere 700m from our farm, • Cooking Bear Restaurant– 2kms up the road, • La Lampara Italian Restaurant - 4kms away in the other direction… • Granny Mouse Country House and Spa - Fine Dining and Bistro just across the river from us... • Il Postino Pizzeria – best pizzas in the Midlands! (Dargle) From art galleries to candle dipping, wind chimes to pampering spas, canopy tours to organic herb farms, all are within easy reach of us. Coffee shops, pubs and restaurants abound and kids are also catered for with loads of fun places to visit. The world-class trout fishing in the area is legendary and can be easily arranged. Inverness Farm is also home to resident artist, Peter Foulis (viewing strictly by appointment only). |
