Welcome to St. Lucia, Elephant Coast, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa! If you are looking for comfort and friendly service, Lalapanzi Guest House is the place to stay at. Guests are warmly greeted and helped to make the most of their visit in the World Heritage Site.
This beautiful Guest House is situated in the last street of St. Lucia, away from the main street's hustle and bustle. Relax in our lush tropical garden surrounding a rock swimming pool, whilst listening to the call of the ocean. A leisurely breakfast is served on a wooden patio facing this spectacular view over the pool and garden. Here is an abundance of birds, bucks, monkeys and other small animals.
Accommodation
This old Victorian house has six comfortable rooms with air-con, tea/coffee trays, ceiling fans, fridges and hairdryers. All rooms are en-suite with bath/shower or both. We also have a honeymoon suite that has a Victorian bath, glass shower and private balcony.
The house has DSTV in the lounge, a reading area, laundry services and save parking. Restaurant, Estuary and beach is in walking distance and there is a public safe in the house.
Breakfast
A generous English and Continental breakfast is served on a wooden deck with a view over the salt rock swimming pool and beautiful big forest garden. There is an abundance of birds and small animals. This garden will take your breath away and at night the Milky Way will lights up the sky! There is also a braai facility in the garden with tables and chairs under the trees.
Nearby
There are banks, grocery store, petrol station, post office, police station and doctors, not to mention good quality restaurants. The weather is good most of the year and nature always at it best! St. Lucia is small, but big in adventure and will cater for any tourist!
Activities
When staying in the Wetland park one can never be bored! You can choose from Hippo and Crocodile trips on the Estuary, Whale watching (in season - July to Nov), horse trails, crocodile park, hiking trails, night drives in Cape Vidal, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing & Zulu cultural tours.
There are also Turtle Tours (in season - Nov to Feb) and off road trips. These trips take you to a new meaning to Africa. Expect to have an adrenaline rush and to need a bath after your day in the sun! Explore the Wetlands with qualified guides or by yourself. The information you get at the office is spoken from experience. The Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve is ± 60 km from St. Lucia and Cape Vidal is only 32 km away, making it an ideal stay over.

DIRECTIONS:
From Johannesburg:
Take the N2 road to Witbank. Turn off to Ogies, pass through Bethal, Ermelo, Piet Retief, Pongola. Continue south along the N2 past Mkuze and Hluhluwe, Take the turn-off left to Mtubatuba and St Lucia (R618). Follow this road until the first turn left (R618) to St Lucia (approximately 27km).
From Durban:
Take the N2 north - you have the option of the toll road or the alternate route via Stanger. 40 kilometres after the turn-off to Richards bay, Take the turn-off right to Mtubatuba and St Lucia (R618). As you arrive in Mtubatuba, turn left at the stop street, then second right (R618) to
St Lucia (approximately 27km).
Both routes continue here:
When you arrive in the greater St. Lucia Wetland Park: Pass over the bridge. Follow the road till you reach the traffic circle. Turn left in McKenzie Street (this is the main street of St Lucia) - then
right into Beach road. Follow this road till you reach the second turn off right, into Kingfisher road. The first left is Garrick Road. This road leads into Sandpiper Street. We are at number 7.
