DESCRIPTION:
Klipfontein Farm is an extensive cattle ranch of typical African rolling savannah hills against the backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains. Bed & Breakfast accommodation is offered in a private cottage, set in its own garden.
This is the perfect stop over for weary travellers. The farm is ideally placed for a quick exit from the N3 national highway. Our farm entrance is only one kilometer from an N3 interchange. We are also midway between Johannesburg and the KwaZulu Natal coastal resorts. We are situated a few kilometers north of Estcourt Ultra City on the N3.
Accommodation
The cottage accommodates 2 persons or a family of 3 in 2 interleading rooms. A cooked breakfast is provided. There is a small kitchen with microwave / convection oven, sink, kettle, toaster, small fridge and the necessary crockery and cutlery, so lunches and dinners can be prepared. An en-suite bathroom includes shower, toilet and large washhand basin. The bedroom includes a TV.
Facilities & Service
Supper can be served by prior arrangement. The cottage is serviced daily. Security is of a high standard as the cottage and its garden are part of the farm homestead complex and are enclosed with a perimeter electric fence and gate. The cottage itself is well secured.
Activities & Attractions
Klipfontein Cottage provides an ideal place for visits to any of the major Drakensberg Mountain resorts such as Mont-aux-sources, Cathedral Peak, Champagne Castle, Injasuti and Giants Castle (with its historic Bushmen paintings and caves).
If arts and crafts are your fancy, then the Midlands Meander situated in beautiful country is only half an hour’s drive away. Two African game reserves, Weenen Game Reserve and Spionkop Game Reserve, are also only 30 to 40 minutes drive away. Here game such as White and Black Rhino can be seen.
Boer War Battle Sites are close by - Churchill’s armoured car de-railment site, the battle sites of Spionkop and Colenso. |
